Show vs. Tell: Jason Roche
The class grew silent as Professor William Strickland sauntered into the classroom, shaking his head in disbelief as he broke the news of Troy Davis’s execution, disgusted but not surprised that the state of Georgia had killed another innocent man. He stopped to stroke his chin and gaze ponderingly at the ceiling, contemplating what the class should discuss today in light of recent events. Strickland’s students become accustomed to the astonished smile, and signature gold tooth, that he presents as he discusses the latest bout of government corruption. Every day is a mystery with Professor Strickland, but it makes for an interesting class and leaves students with some deep thoughts as they file out of the classroom.
